
The musical and poetic Spring Festival took place at the Russian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia
The music and poetry Spring Festival, organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo in Bulgaria, the Union of Russian-Speaking Bulgarian Writers (SRPB) and the Bulgarian Literary Club "Pegasus" was held in the Music Salon of the Russian Cultural and Information Center in Sofia.
Natalia Yermenkova, chair of the SRAP, and Vladimir Iliev, head of the “Pegasus”, opened the meeting and congratulated those present in the hall with the 140th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria, presenting a collection of poems by members of the Writers' Union "140 Suns of Freedom" - a gift to the Bulgarian people from them, as well as women with the passed International Women's day. A large audience in the hall greeted enthusiastically the performances of the singers who gave them a spring concert.
The portal of the Presidential Library presents the electronic collection "Russia-Bulgaria: from the history of relationships", at which the research papers and documents on the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and the Treaty of San Stefano are available. In particular, the collection presents a monograph of 1878 "The Russian-Turkish War, predetermined by Peter the Great about the deliverance of Eastern Christians from the Turkish age-old yoke. Issue 1 and Issue 2", as well as "A short story about the Slavs (especially about the Bulgarians), i.e., about their origin, customs, beliefs, etc., and about the oppression of the Turks" by A. Vyshgorodsky in 1878.
March 15, 2018 in the Presidential Library in connection with the 140th anniversary of the end of the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and the signing of the Treaty of San Stefano will be open a multimedia exhibition "Forgotten photos of the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878".
Visitors of the exhibition will get familiar with unique photos, digitized and restored by the Bulgarian artist and photographer Ivo Hadjimishev. On the ancient images presented at the exhibition, the brightest events of those years come to life, the heroic pages of Russian and Bulgarian history are opened to the viewer.
