Unique aerial photographs of Britain from the 1940s to 2009 have been made available online on Cambridge University Library’s Digital Library as part of “Britain from the air: 1945-2009” online project.

The Russian Center of Science and Culture (RCSC) hosted another event from the series “Countering the falsification of the history of the Great Patriotic War” in Brest focused on the theme “Guerrilla movement during the Great Patriotic War in Polesie and Smolensk Region”.

The Kalinin House Museum (Kashinsky District, Tver Region) presents the exhibition of greeting cards “For You” timed to coincide with the International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on March 8. The exhibition will be open through March 27.

On March 6, 2019 the Yasnaya Polyana Gallery (Tula) is staging a new exhibition “Sophia Tolstaya – Wife of the Genius”. The exhibition is dedicated to the 175th birth anniversary and the centenary of death of Sophia Tolstaya – Leo Tolstoy’s wife (1844-1919).

The virtual branch of the State Russian Museum has been opened in Rzhev, Tver Region. The Rzhev Exhibition Hall has become the 210th member of “The Virtual Russian Museum” project.

A large-scale campaign to collect materials about the siege of Leningrad, announced by the Presidential Library in the autumn of 2018, found a wide response in the hearts of many people. About 200 people responded to the call to share testimonies about that time, they transferred about 2000 documents for digitization to the Presidential Library’s electronic collection.

The Mikhailovsky Palace, Hall No. 54 (The State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg) presents a new exposition of historical paintings. Instead of the famous painting by I. Repin “Ceremonial Meeting of the State Council ...”, which is currently on display in the Tretyakov Gallery, visitors will have a chance to see pictures by artists of the 2nd half of the 19th century, which spotlight the history of pre-Petrine Russia. Earlier these works were rarely displayed as part of temporary exhibitions....

February 18, 2019 in the Center for Public Access to Information at the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Research Library for students of the faculty of journalism of the Kurgan State University was held a training "Electronic resources of the Presidential Library - for Education".

Employees of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Ulan Bator, as well as representatives of educational institutions, on the basis of which branches of the Russian Language Center at the RCSC were opened, took part in the conference and webinar dedicated to the memory of Alexander Pushkin organized by the Presidential Library.

March 14, 2019 at 12:00 Moscow time, within the days of the Crimean Spring, timed to the five-year anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, an inter-regional videoconference "Crimea-Russia: Past and Present" will be held. The event has been organized by the Presidential Library and the I. Y. Franco Crimean Republican Universal Research Library with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.

The Moscow State Integrated Museum-Reserve, Kolomenskoye Peasant Estate, presents an exhibition “Decor of Peasant Houses of Kolomenskoye Village in the 19th–mid-20th c.: Carpentry and Carving”. The exhibition is dedicated to the architectural decor of old houses of Kolomenskoye and its environs, the work of carpenters and woodcarvers.

February 2019 marks 160 years since the inauguration of the very first photo exhibition in Russia. It was staged in St. Petersburg in the Holy Synod building, which today houses the Presidential Library. The photographs taken by Pyotr Sevastyanov were put on display for the general public. On November 5, 2019 the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) published its report under the title Measuring Digital Development: Facts and Figures 2019 (Geneva). According to the report, over 53 per cent of the world’s population, or estimated 4.1 billion people, use Internet. It reflects a 5.3 percent increase compared with 2018.

November 9, 2019 marks the 201st anniversary of the birth of Ivan Turgenev (1818–1883) - the leading figure in Russian literature, who created six novels, many stories and plays, a large number of tales and unparalleled lyric poems in prose.

The exhibition “Valaam: 200 Years in Russian Painting” will be opened on November 15, 2019 in the St. Michael’s Castle (State Russian Museum, St. Petersburg).

Remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library were opened in the Central library of the urban-type village of Nikel and the city library-branch № 1 in Zapolyarny on November 1, 2019.

On November 20, 2019 the State Historical Museum (Moscow) is presenting the exhibition “Fabergé and Court Jewelers” focused on the Russian jewelry art of the 2nd half of the 19th c. – early 20th c., which is famous all over the world for its beauty and elegance. The exhibition showcases roughly 300 exhibits dating from the epoch of the Russian Renaissance, including items from the collections of military museums, which have never gone on display before.

The Lipetsk Regional Museum of Local History presents an exhibition from the Yasnaya Polyana Leo Tolstoy Museum-Estate (Tula Region), which is focused on farming.

The Presidential Library annually holds Russia in the Electronic World Interactive Olympiad for senior students of educational institutions, which tasks include questions on three school disciplines: the history of Russia, social studies and the Russian language.
