Schools of Astana took part in the Russian Language Week

With the support of the Russian Center of Science and Culture (RCSC) in Astana, the Russian Language Week was held in the capital of Kazakhstan, in the framework of which thematic open lessons, quizzes and competitions for schoolchildren were arranged. At the same time, in many classes real holidays of Russian literature took place.

The Presidential Library illustrates letter to the siege of the past

A large-scale campaign to collect materials about the siege of Leningrad, announced by the Presidential Library in the autumn of 2018, found a wide response in the hearts of many people. About 200 people responded to the call to share testimonies about that time, they transferred about 2000 documents for digitization to the Presidential Library’s electronic collection.

Repin “Ceremonial Meeting of the State Council ...”, which is currently on display in the Tretyakov Gallery, visitors will have a chance to see pictures by artists of the 2nd half of the 19th century, which spotlight the history of pre-Petrine Russia. Earlier these works were rarely displayed as part of temporary exhibitions....

"Crimea - Russia: Past and Present" video conference to connect regions

March 14, 2019 at 12:00 Moscow time, within the days of the Crimean Spring, timed to the five-year anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia, an inter-regional videoconference "Crimea-Russia: Past and Present" will be held. The first photo exhibition in the Russian Empire was staged 160 years ago in Senate Square

February 2019 marks 160 years since the inauguration of the very first photo exhibition in Russia. It was staged in St. Petersburg in the Holy Synod building, which today houses the Presidential Library. The photographs taken by Pyotr Sevastyanov were put on display for the general public. On November 5, 2019 the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) published its report under the title Measuring Digital Development: Facts and Figures 2019 (Geneva). According to the report, over 53 per cent of the world’s population, or estimated 4.1 billion people, use Internet. It reflects a 5.3 percent increase compared with 2018.

On November 20, 2019 the State Historical Museum (Moscow) is presenting the exhibition “Fabergé and Court Jewelers” focused on the Russian jewelry art of the 2nd half of the 19th c. – early 20th c., which is famous all over the world for its beauty and elegance. The exhibition showcases roughly 300 exhibits dating from the epoch of the Russian Renaissance, including items from the collections of military museums, which have never gone on display before.
