Maria Vladimirovna Melentyeva was born on January 24, 1924 in the village of Pryazha of the Autonomous Karelian Socialist Soviet Republic into the Karelian peasant family of Vladimir Averyanovich and Evdokia Andreevna Melentyev. She studied at Pryazhinsky secondary and Svyatozersky junior high schools. She studied well, was fond of sports, and took an active part in public life. After graduating from school in 1941, she worked as a postal operator.

On December 14, 2023 the Red Banner Hall of the Frunze Central House of the Russian Army hoted the award ceremony for the winners of the VII All-Russian contest “Russian Anthem in Clear Words”.

In 2024 the Presidential Library continues the series of video lectures Knowledge of Russia, dedicated to the history of Russian state security agencies.

Since 1918 the Constitution has been the basic law of our country. Texts of constitutions of the Russian state in different historic epochs along with commentaries on these texts are represented by two sets, which show the development of constitutions in the Soviet time and at the modern stage.

Specialists of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Scientific Library have developed a new intellectual game “Rich and Glorious is Our Urals”, dedicated to the anniversary of the region.

On January 18, 2024, on the day of the 81st anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad, the Collection “World War II in Archival Documents” which is available on the Presidential Library’s portal includes more than 250 documents about the defence of Leningrad in 1942–1944. The materials came from federal archives (RGASPI, GA RF, RGALI, RGANI, RGVA, RGAKFD, RGAFD) and departmental archives of the Ministry of Defence, FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Today one has an opportunity to view them from anywhere in the world.

On January 12, Russia celebrates Prosecutor's Day. The Presidential Library's portal contains rare materials that reveal the history of the emergence and development of the prosecutor's office as an institution of power. One can learn about not only with ancient publications, but also with modern scientific works that reflect the entry of the prosecutor's office into the country's national security system.

On December 25, 2023, a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was held in St. Petersburg, at the Presidential Library, chaired by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

On October 13, 2023, on the initiative of the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Pushkin Tomsk Regional Universal Scientific Library a teleconference “I am passionately interested in Siberia” took place with the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, opened at the Shishkov Altai Regional Universal Scientific Library. The event was dedicated to the anniversary of the Russian writer, explorer of Siberia and engineer Vyacheslav Yakovlevich Shishkov.

On October 18, 2023 the Presidential Library and the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of Republic of Belarus signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by the library’s Director General Yuri Nosov, and the rector of the Academy, Vyacheslav Danilovich.

A teleconference between the regional centers of the Presidential Library in Simferopol and Volgograd based on the Franco Crimean Republican Universal Scientific Library and the Gorky Volgograd Regional Universal Scientific Library, dedicated to tourist routes around the sights of Russia, was held on October 17, 2023.

The Presidential Library’s Regional Center based on the Lermontov Penza Regional Library arranged the interregional intellectual tournament for schoolchildren “Ready, smart guys and smart girls!”, which took place on October 20, 2023.

Every year in Russia, October 30 is the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Political Repression. Officially, this Day was established by Resolution of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR of October 18, 1991 № 1763/1-1 “On the establishment of the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Political Repression” in connection with the adoption on October 18, 1991 of the Law of the RSFSR № 1761-1 “On the rehabilitation of the victims of political repressions" (since October 15, 1993 - Law of the Russian Federation).

On the eve of the national holiday - National Unity Day, which is celebrated in Russia on November 4, the Presidential Library features a new online project for the exhibition “The Pearls of the collection of the Presidential Library “The House Romanov. The Zemsky Sobor of 1613”, which was opened in the library from February to May 2023.

On November 2, 2023 at 14:00 Moscow time a lecture dedicated to the icon painter Andrei Rublev will be held in the Presidential Library as part of the video lecture Knowledge of Russia.

On October 28, 2023 intellectual tournament on the use of information resources of the Presidential Library was held at the remote access centers of the Presidential Library in the cities of Nefteyugansk, Yalutorovsk, Zavodoukovsk and the village of Baikalovo.
