"The Great Son of Fatherland" event, marking the 225th anniversary of Alexander Griboedov was held in Penza

January 22, 2020, a practical event "The Great Son of Fatherland", marking the 225th anniversary of A. S. Griboedov was held at the M. Y. Lermontov’s Penza Regional Library. It was arranged by the specialists of the Regional Center of Remote Access to the Presidential Library resources.

During an interactive lesson, school students were introduced to a simple and advanced search for materials, learned how to set correct web search queries, and what collections are useful for them in educational activities.

Special attention was paid to the “Alexander Griboedov (1795–1829)” collection. Students thoroughly studied all of its sections focusing on the most interesting documents. For example, children learned the story of A. S. Griboedov’s romantic love for a Georgian princess Nina Chavchavadze provided by the second edition of “Russian personalities in portraits engraved by academician Lavrenty Seryakov”.

The Presidential Library portal presents the collection "Penza Region: Pages of History". The collection includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials featuring the demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the region from the late XVIII - the first third of the XX century. The effective Charter (Basic Law) of Penza Region is also available on the Presidential Library portal.
