International initiatives: “InterActive History” project targeted at museums of Finland and Karelia underway

A joint Russian-Finnish project “InterActive History” was launched in October as part of Karelia Cross-Border Cooperation (CBC) Program. The project activities are targeted at 6 participating museums in Karelia and Finland. It is co-organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Karelia. The Creative Industries and Cultural Tourism Development Fund is the major partner of the project, which will run until 2020.

International Initiatives: Brest declared as CIS Cultural Capital

The city of Brest (Belarus) has been awarded the certificate of the CIS Cultural Capital. The city, which is celebrating its 1000th anniversary this year, has officially picked up the baton from Goris (Armenia), thus becoming the 15th CIS Cultural Capital. In this status Brest will hold about 40 international events this year. Cultural Capitals of the Commonwealth interstate programme is among the key cultural projects launched by the CIS.
