On May 27, 2025, we will mark the 322nd anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg. This day in 1703, Peter the Great founded a fortress on Zayachy Island at the mouth of the Neva River. The emperor himself drew the plan for the fortress.

The Literary and Art Museum of Anton Chekhov's Book "Sakhalin Island" (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk) launched the exhibition "In the Prism of Onegin: Pushkin-Tchaikovsky-Chekhov". It will run until September 15, 2021. The Tchaikovsky State Memorial Musical Museum-Reserve in Klin provided exhibits to Sakhalin as part of the"Culture" national project.

Virtual exhibition "Great Victories of the Russian Fleet" opened in Penza

Employees of the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library have completed work on the creation of a virtual book exhibition “Great Victories of the Russian Fleet”. The exposition is dedicated to the anniversaries of the battles that ended with the victory of the Russian fleet off the coast of Grengam Island, Cape Tendra and in the Chesme Bay.

Memory of Russia: “Guard at the Head of the Neva River” Historical Festival kicked off at the Oreshek Fortress in Leningrad Region

The traditional historical festival “Guard at the Head of the Neva River” will be held on August 10-11, 2019 at the Oreshek Fortress (Shlisselburg, Orekhovets Island). Guests at the festival will see the re-enactment of three historical battles. Members of military and historical clubs will re-enact heroic events related to sieges of the fortress in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries.

The Presidential Library marking the 300th anniversary of the victory of the Russian fleet at Grengam

300 years ago, on August 7 (July 27, old style), 1720, the last major naval battle in the Northern War - the naval Battle of Grengam Island was held. The victory of the young Russian fleet had a great influence on the course of the war and largely predetermined the speedy conclusion of the Treaty of Nystad.

Marking Pushkin Day several halls of the Lermontov Penza Regional Library and the Regional Center of the Presidential Library turned into a real Lukomorye. The guys from the summer camp of school № 68 were looking for "traces of unseen animals" throughout the library. They had to visit the island of Buyan, the tent of the Shamakhan queen, as well as Prince Gvidon.

The exhibition is organized by the Museum of the History of Kronstadt and the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg.
